This image was completed once I returned from my two-week visit to Brooklyn. During that time I revisited my appreciation for what cities have to offer and love it. The first thing I did when I arrived was head out to local bike shops and grabbed a beater bike that I could ride during my visit. This is how I usually connect with cities is through cycling around the neighborhoods. You start to pick up on sights, sounds, smells and conversations that are distinct to those places. I met a variety of personalities that helped me shape develop this painting. I returned to Eugene Oregon with a need to take more risks in my art. This piece is unlike my other artwork with its tribute to the graffiti style and thick impasto paints.
